Q5. How do I bid?

A5.
1.  Sign in.
2.  Select the item that you would like to bid on from the right hand menu, then click on the 'Bid Now to Win' button.
3.  Select the number of bids you would like to make.  The page will refresh.
4.  Enter the bid amount/s.  Click confirm and the page will refresh again.
5.  Enter the verification number to confirm the bid/s you've made.


Q6. What is a Unique Bid?

A6. A bid is unique when there hasn't been another bidder bidding the same amount. A unique bid wins each auction.

Remember the lowest bidder may not win the auction - it is the lowest unique bid that will win.


Q7. How can I increase my chances of winning?

A7. PlayLowBids is different from regular auctions, giving everyone an equal chance of winning every auction.

PlayLowBids allows you to bid a range of bids.  There are a couple of things that can be advantageous to you when you bid a range:

1.  You could knock out the lowest unique bidder, allowing yourself a greater chance of becoming the new lowest unique bidder

2.  You could secure yourself the remaining unique bids, strengthening your position to remain the lowest unique bidder several times over.  This gives you more of an advantage to winning the auction.

If you bid multiple times on the same auction, you are increasing your chances of winning that auction by covering a wider range of bids.


Q8. When can I submit bids?

A8. Bidders may submit valid bids at anytime of day or night that an auction is still open.


Q9 Can I submit more than one bid per auction?

A9.  A member may submit as many bids as is allowed for each individual member, for any paid auction item, although a limit of valid bids is placed on all auctions for the members.  The max bid limit per member may and can also be raised at any stage during the auction.  Members will always be notified via email when this is due to happen or has happened.


Q10. How are successful bids determined?

A10. Upon auction end, PlayLowBids will automatically identify valid bids and identify the successful valid lowest unique bid.

The Bidder that submitted the valid lowest uniquebid will be the winner of the auction. The successful Bidder will receive a notification email directing them to confirm their order within five business days.


Q11. How can I see what the winning bid was in an auction?

A11.  Members may review winning auctions, and all other bids, for successfully closed auctions by clicking on the Results Link on the website.
Bidders may also review the status of any auction for which they submitted a valid bid by clicking on 'Current Bids' under the 'My Account' tab.


Q12. I tried to submit a bid but it kept telling me "my bid is lower than the min price". What am I doing wrong?

A12. Bids cannot exceed the min Auction price as indicated for each item auctioned on the website.  Usually this is 0.01c.


Q13. Can I cancel or change my bid after it has been submitted and confirmed?

A13. All valid submitted bids are final and cannot be cancelled or changed.
Any questions regarding the validity of a bid should be submitted by clicking on the Contact Us link.


Q14. When do the auctions end?

A14. The auctions either end when the maximum number of bids has been reached or the end date has been reached, usually the former.  However, if an auction has reached its end date, but the minimum number of bids has not been reached, it may be extended.


Q15. What is a bid credit?

A15. Credits are our way of making the bidding process easier for you. It also allows you to earn extra credits by referring friends or through buying large amounts of credits. There is a pricing chart in Q4.


Q16. What is the administration/handling fee?

A16. The administration/handling fee (also known as the Bid Credit) varies from auction to auction and generally ranges from 1 credit to 56 credits.


Q17. How much will the postage and packaging be on each item?

A17. If you live Australia, and the goods are to be delivered to an address in Australia, shipping is FREE!! Unless stated in the auction details.

If the item is to be delivered elsewhere or you require special delivery instructions above and beyond our normal posting procedures you may incur extra fees as described in the Terms and Conditions.


Q18. How do I receive the product if I am the successful Bidder?

A18. Successful Bidders will receive an email notification. Upon receipt of the winning bid amount from the winning bidder, the item will be shipped to the address on record for the successful Bidder. All items will be shipped via Australia Post.


Q19. Are any of the items used or refurbished?

A19. All PlayLowBids auctioned items are brand new and include the full manufacturer's warranty.


Q20. Do you offer a cash alternative?

A20. At PlayLowBids discretion we offer a cash/cheque alternative to any winning auction.  This cash alternative is no less than 60% of the auctions listed RRP, and will be no more than 65% of the auction listed RRP.  It is up to you to contact PlayLowBids prior to auction end to ask if it is a possibility for the auction you would like to win.


Q21. Can I review the auctions I've entered?

A21. By clicking on the 'Current Bids' link under 'My Account' tab at the top of the page.


Q22. I don't have a credit/debit card or paypal account. Can I pay using a cheque or bank deposit?

A22. Yes you can pay using a bank cheque or postal order.  For this, you have to contact admin for more information.
Another form of payment is via direct deposit into the PlayLowBids bank account.


Q23. How do I cancel my membership?

A23. If you wish to cancel your membership with PlayLowBids Auction, simply fill out the Contact form on this site with the request to cancel.  Please keep in mind you will lose any and all bid credits you have in your account, all bidding history, and you will no longer receive Bid Watch or Bid Alert messages. You may, if you choose, sign up at any time in the future, but you will be starting afresh with no bid credits or PlayLowBids history.


Q24. Why can't I log in?

A24. You must first register and confirm your registration via email to log in.  Please check your junk or spam email folders, as sometimes mail can end up there.


Q25. It says my email address is invalid when I try logging in.

A25. Make sure you're using the valid email address that was used when you registered. If you changed your email address in 'Edit Profile' under 'My Account' then you must log in with your new one. Also make sure your email address is in the proper format.


Q27. Are all payments secure?

A27. Yes. All payments are handled through PayPal, which is a highly respected online payment gateway and is totally secure.  All bank payments are also secure.

Q28. How old do you have to be to bid?

A28.  You must be over 18 years of age to bid on any of the PlayLowBids auctions.
